shining storm

Shining Storm is a 2D bullet hell shmup. i did all the art for this game as part of a class at UNT — i was teamed up with 3 programmers from the computer science department and i was the lone artist.

Instructions: you’ll need the newest version of directx 9.0c (or you can download this and put it in the directory with the .exe). press N for new game. move with arrow keys. fire with z. f2 shows framerate. f3 shows hitboxes (the hitbox for the player is that small circle thing). f1 was only useful for debugging. press esc until you exit if you want to quit. in shitstorm.xml: windowed=”1″ — change 1 to a 0 if you want full screen.

  1. Looks awesome! I look forward to playing this updated version! 😀

Oh yeah. I totally understand the directx error, and all you would have to do to enable people with lesser versions of directx to play it is supply them in the folder with the .exe the file d3dx9_30.dll. I have done this twice for my 2-D games and it works just fine.
It just helps to not have to limit your players to having to upgrade their system.

Hope that helps! And again, look forward to playing the coolness that is your game!
